When we developed our GMAT app, we asked experts at leading universities who happen to be our colleagues where we do GMAT courses (St Gallen, LMU Munich, Frankfurt School of Finance, ect) for some advantages to learning with apps. Naturally, we built these into the app. Here is the advice that they gave us:

1. Accessibility and Convenience

  • On-the-Go Learning: Apps are accessible anytime, anywhere. This flexibility is especially useful for busy students or professionals.

  • Offline Access: Many apps allow you to download content for offline use, making it easy to study without an internet connection.

2. Interactive and Engaging Content

  • Interactive Exercises: should include interactive quizzes, flashcards, and games that make learning more engaging and enjoyable.

  • Visual Learning: Many apps use visuals like diagrams, videos, and infographics to explain concepts, catering to visual learners.

3. Personalized Learning Experience

  • Adaptive Learning: Some apps use adaptive technology to tailor content to your learning pace, focusing on areas where you need more practice.

  • Customizable Content: You can often choose topics, subjects, and difficulty levels, allowing for a personalized learning experience.

4. Instant Feedback and Progress Tracking

  • Real-Time Feedback: Apps provide instant feedback on quizzes and exercises, helping you quickly identify and correct mistakes.

  • Progress Tracking: You can track your progress, set goals, and monitor your learning journey, providing motivation to keep studying.

5. Resource Variety

  • Diverse Study Materials: Apps offer a wide range of study materials, including practice questions, mock exams, study guides, and more.

  • Supplementary Resources: They can be used alongside textbooks and classroom materials to reinforce learning and provide additional perspectives.

6. Social Learning and Collaboration

  • Peer Collaboration: Some apps have social features that allow you to connect with other learners, share resources, and collaborate on projects.

  • Discussion Forums: Apps with discussion forums provide a platform to ask questions, share knowledge, and engage in meaningful discussions.

7. Time Management and Organization

  • Study Planners and Reminders: Many apps include features for scheduling study sessions, setting reminders, and managing time effectively.

  • Task Management: You can use apps to organize study materials, create to-do lists, and keep track of assignments and deadlines.

8. Cost-Effectiveness

  • Free and Low-Cost Options: Many high-quality study apps are free or low-cost, offering a budget-friendly way to access study materials and resources.

  • Reduced Need for Physical Resources: Apps can reduce the need for physical textbooks and study materials, saving money and space.

Andy GMAT 665

“I am not a native speaker and not the greatest student ever. I really had to get a high score to overcome my lackluster student performance. Nicholas pushed me through on quant, which I started to enjoy (for the first time in my life). I scored in the top 93rd percentile, which means anyone else can too with the right approach. School choice: INSEAD.

Marina, GMAT 700

I am the first to admit that I underestimated GMAT. It is a challenging exam. I have advanced science degrees and expected it to be a formality. The first time I took it without much preparation and I messed up the timing. Luckily I reached out for help and I am happy that I did. It made my Stanford MBA dream possible!"

Ron, GMAT 740

As a German consultant working in Zurich, I had to distinguish myself from my peer-group. Most of fellow analysts apply for top MBAs, so were are over-represented at the top schools. I took GMAT seriously and ended up with a 740.  I also got help creating a visionary application storyline to grab the attention of the adcom– and to differentiate myself from other applicants with similar consulting backgrounds."
